MEET BRIAN
Decades of experience powering NZ and the Pacific.
With a financial, security and management background and a large number of years in the power generation industry, Brian Fleming has helped deliver reliable power solutions across New Zealand and the Pacific, supporting everyone from remote island resorts and infrastructure projects to commercial and industrial operations.
With the sad passing of his previous General Manager Gordon McLennan in late 2025, Brian has now taken an immediate more hands on role in the day to day running of the company.
Known for his practical approach and broad industry knowledge, Brian believes that every project starts with understanding the client's needs and delivering a solution that will perform for years to come. It's this commitment to long-term relationships, trusted partnerships, and dependable outcomes that continues to drive Generators Direct today and into the years ahead.
Our Journey
Early 2000s
Entered the power generation industry in New Zealand and began building expertise across generator systems and project delivery.
2005–2010
Established long-term manufacturing relationships and expanded into Pacific Island markets.
2010–2015
Delivered power solutions for a growing number of hospitality, infrastructure, and commercial projects throughout the Pacific.
Formally established the company McLennan Power NZ Limted in May 2012, and changed the name to Generators Direct Limited in October 2014.
2015–2020
Expanded project capability and strengthened support services across New Zealand and the Pacific.
2020–Today
Supporting a large and diverse number of clients with power solutions ranging from 1kVA to 2.5MVA.
